Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical advice and care to patients with complex healthcare needs, including those with cancer and palliative care requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes, including the development and implementation of care management plans.
- Develop and facilitate education and training programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on cancer care and palliative care.
- Participate in collaborative research with other healthcare professionals to improve cancer care services.
- Provide leadership and expertise in the development of clinical practice, including the implementation of evidence-based research and best practice guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with medical practitioners, nursing and allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
- Registered nurse with a current license to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current Class C NSW Health driver's license.
- Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three years recent full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field of oncology, palliative care, or cancer stream-specific nursing or related discipline.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice using evidence-based research.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning, including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management, and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems, and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
