Disability Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities, supporting them to live as independently as possible.

This role involves working within Residential SIL Home Care settings, providing daily personal care, using manual handling tools, and managing complex behaviors. If you have experience working in SIL home environments and with individuals who require support with daily living tasks, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting Daily Living Tasks
    • Assisting with personal care, meal planning, cooking, light cleaning, and facilitating community connections.
    • Helping individuals achieve their NDIS goals by developing daily skills such as housekeeping, social skills, and budgeting.
  • Providing Emotional Support
    • Offering emotional support and guidance to individuals with complex needs.
    • Facilitating daily activities, such as going for walks, attending movies, or accompanying appointments.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III qualification in Disability (or equivalent) and relevant work experience in SIL home care environments. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work)
