Data Engineering Platform Lead

As a seasoned Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 15 engineers with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Your primary goal is to manage existing microservices within the Data Portability Platform (DPP) to enable efficient data migration into and across Atlassian Cloud.

The DPP team operates in a distributed-first environment, leveraging Java and Kotlin expertise to maintain multiple services. As an engineering leader, you will identify key areas for improvement and drive operational excellence across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of up to 20 engineers with varying levels of experience
  • Drive success in operating existing services and improving capabilities to meet company objectives
  • Ensure the team focuses on high-impact work and aligns with stakeholders
  • Manage multiple streams of work within your team, contributing to various programs

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering Management with teams of up to 20 people
  • Experience driving operational and engineering excellence improvements across teams
  • Customer-focused approach to bring the voice of the customer to a platform team
