FinXL is partnering with a large banking client for a 12-month+ assignment based in Sydney CBD.

Overview

This engagement is with the team responsible for managing the client's corporate data platform. This platform supports data science, self-service analytics, and reporting. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will drive the delivery of key platform capabilities using AWS and Kubernetes, lead architectural decisions, enhance automation, and champion security and compliance across the platform.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the delivery of critical platform capabilities using AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Define technical roadmaps and lead architectural design decisions.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new capabilities for the Corporate Data Hub Platform.
  • Enhance automation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring practices.
  • Champion security, compliance, and risk management across the platform.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of enterprise experience as a Cloud / DevOps / Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Big Data processing technologies such as Hive, Spark, and Starburst Presto.
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly with Python and Bash.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and drive technical decisions.
  • A proactive approach to production stability, cost management, and platform improvements.
