Senior Mechanical Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead the planning, design, and execution of major mechanical engineering projects.

This role requires strong leadership, hands-on design expertise, and experience with engineering software and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mechanical engineering design, planning, and execution of major projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely, on time, and efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant software.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs and activities comply with Australian standards (AS/NZS) and other relevant codes.
  • Utilize SAP systems for project tracking, asset management, and procurement processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct technical reviews, quality assurance, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and drawings.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years' proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in planning and executing major projects.
  • Extensive experience managing contractors and project teams.
  • Proficient in mechanical design software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Well-versed in Australian standards and other international standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Experience using SAP for engineering and project management functions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia is highly preferred.
