Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the role of Child Passenger Safety Educator/Instructor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for educating parents, caregivers, and community professionals on child passenger safety through various training methods.

This is a part-time contract position that requires 25 hours of work per month with the possibility of extending the contract. You will work closely with our Associate Manager, Community Impact, to provide education and instruction on child car seat safety. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and support other Child Passenger Safety Educators across the province.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in community education, experience working with diverse groups, and excellent communication skills. You should also have knowledge of MS Office Suite and a valid BC driver's license.   • You will provide education and instruction on child passenger safety to parents, caregivers, and community professionals.
  • You will complete training to become a BCAA Child Passenger Safety Educator and Instructor.
  • You will mentor and support CPS Educators across the province.
  • You will review and update program materials.
  • You will work with internal and external stakeholders to execute and support existing strategies and new initiatives.
  • You will participate in strategic planning discussions related to the program.
  • You will administer the CPS phone line, email inquiries, mail-outs, CPS Educator activity reports, and database.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • BCAA Child Passenger Safety Educator II Certificate or willingness to complete.
  • At least 5 years of experience in community education.
  • Proven experience in adult education.
  • Experience working with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • A valid BC driver's license.
