Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and servicing the Bruker AXS installed systems (SC-XRD, XRD, XRF).
  • Conducting customer support activities, including installation, modifications, troubleshooting, and remote assistance for complex equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Providing training to customers on system operations.

The essential functions of this role involve:

  • Installing, modifying, and troubleshooting equipment and systems in accordance with standard operating procedures and under the guidance of supervisors.
  • Addressing customer needs by collaborating with factory personnel, technical support, and engineering teams on issues requiring equipment design modifications or potential new product applications.
  • Training customer personnel in the operation and applications of the equipment.
  • Managing customer accounts effectively.
  • Supplying necessary information and reports to Service Management, customers, and corporate personnel.
  • Adhering to Bruker and customer safety, cleanliness, and operational protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Completing standard operating procedures, project plans, and other documentation in a timely manner.

The travel requirements for this position include:

  • Approximately 85% travel to customer sites, occasionally on short notice, with potential for international travel as needed.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience in field service, particularly in industrial settings.
  • Strong ability to cultivate excellent customer relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations as required, with 85% travel expected, including domestic and occasional international trips.
  • Basic understanding of computer languages and commands.
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Educational Background and Experience

  • A degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of field experience in a similar technical environment.
  • Experience in servicing analytical equipment, particularly X-ray instruments, is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, whether local or remote.
