Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Specialist

Wood is currently recruiting for a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Specialist to join the Construction and Commissioning Engineering team as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry to provide Brownfield Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on a long-term, Engineering Service Contract.
This is a permanent role available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis, based in Perth CBD. Wood's "Operations" APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating construction engineering and ensuring the successful delivery of EPC projects. You will have access to remote and flexible working options, purchased annual leave and employee discount programs.
You will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia. Ideally, you will be a suitably qualified engineer from a recognized institution or trade background in Electrical and Instrumentation, although a tertiary qualification will also be considered along with 7+ years of proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector in Australia.
In addition, you will have:
- A demonstrated commitment to safety
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Previous experience in a role of construction engineering and coordination working in a project multidisciplined team
- Substantial experience of interpreting discipline documentation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS)
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of technical specifications
