About Us

MATES in Construction WA is a respected charity committed to providing exceptional mental health and suicide prevention services to workers in the building and construction, and mining industries. Our comprehensive program includes awareness training for construction workers and connects those at risk of suicide with vital support. We are now seeking a highly skilled Case Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our mission.

Role Responsibilities
  • Client intake and therapeutic assessment to identify specific needs
  • Short-term Case Management focusing on support plan development and external referrals
  • Applying solution-focused, person-centred, and trauma-informed approaches to client support
  • Ensuring Policies and Procedures are adhered to across the CM service
  • Bi-annual reporting
  • Representing the organisation at industry events
  • Undertaking ASIST (Suicide Interventions) as required (training will be provided)
  • Case noting and data management
  • Delivering high-quality MATES training
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary education in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling (or similar) and/or significant demonstrated experience working as a Case Manager or similar
  • Understanding of the importance of self-care practices
  • Understanding of the issues impacting people from the building and construction industry and their families
  • Be willing to travel to deliver trainings to regional and remote sites as required
  • Ability to work additional hours as required
  • Strong inter-personal skills, including ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  • A clear understanding of the MATES program
  • Experience in building trusted and valued relationships with team members, partners and other stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including ability to prioritise responsibilities and multi task
  • Good proficiency in common IT software, including Word and PowerPoint
  • A current drivers license, WWC clearance and Police clearance is essential
