Austal is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer/Naval Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide technical assistance for the delivery of contract engineering support services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engineering change proposals and designs to ensure asset capability and integrity.
- Conduct technical risk analysis and awareness to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Execute engineering investigations and provide timely recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical instructions and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Promote and engage a HSEQ culture across all activities to support effective compliance.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives through corrective actions arising from incidents or non-conformances.
- Formal degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, recognised by Engineers Australia as being suitable for registration in the Professional Engineer (Member) category.
- Australian Citizen, if the role requires the Department of Defence and/or the Department of Home Affairs Security Clearances.
- Well-developed communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 3 years' experience in a sustainment engineering role, with knowledge of asset management standards, systems, and processes.
- Capable of achieving Level 4 Authorised Engineering Authority delegation under the Navy Technical Regulatory System or equivalent.
- Understanding of technical risk management and safety systems, with complex problem-solving skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and standard engineering software, with a White Card.
