Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to advance your teaching career as a Lecturer in Medical Education. We are seeking an individual who has made valuable contributions to the academic community and is passionate about student-centered teaching.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical education, excellent scholarly learning and teaching skills, and a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

  • Teach within the Doctor of Medicine program and contribute to broader aspects of the program through scholarship in their area of expertise.
  • Promote the School and establish and maintain links with academic, industry, and professional communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent scholarly learning and teaching across the foundational years of the degree.
  • Contribute to the review of units and courses, implementing refinements and innovations to improve student outcomes.
  • Assist in integrating new pedagogical research across all aspects of education.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications in a health professional discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to UG or PG teaching programs in medical education.
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning, with experience in teaching clinical reasoning, clinical practice, and clinical communication skills.
  • Ability to utilise varied modes of teaching, teaching resources, and technology to cater for all learners.

About the Role:

This role will be working within the School of Medicine, contributing to the development of effective unit curricula and learning resources. The appointee will work collaboratively with unit teaching teams and other unit teaching teams in the course at Waurn Ponds campus and the rural clinical schools.
