As a key member of our criminal law practice, you will gain hands-on experience representing clients in criminal matters, including bail applications, pleas, summary trials, committal hearings, and higher court mentions.

About The Role
  • Represent clients in criminal law matters, providing duty lawyer services and legal advice to clients in the Magistrates and Children's Courts.
  • Advocate for clients, preparing cases, and instructing counsel in all jurisdictions.
  • Support the development of law reform policies and service delivery improvements.

This role involves working with clients who have been charged with criminal offences across all courts in Queensland. You will be responsible for providing vital duty lawyer services, preparing complex cases, and appearing in higher courts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide duty lawyer services and legal advice to clients in the Magistrates and Children's Courts.
  2. Represent clients in criminal law matters, including bail applications, pleas, summary trials, committal hearings, and higher court mentions.
  3. Prepare cases and instruct counsel in all jurisdictions.
