About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Product Owner to join our team at FIS. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for working closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps, Architects, and other stakeholders to design, build, implement, and test quality technical or functional solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding product strategy, market, industry, and client goals.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand business problem statements and converting them into user stories.
  • Articulating product vision and user stories in a manner clearly understandable to development teams.
  • Managing backlog of user stories for one or more projects/features.
  • Establishing user story acceptance criteria, accepting user stories, refining stories with Scrum teams.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on test plans to ensure application changes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Creating Sprint Release Plans with input from development teams.
  • Monitoring development progress and providing updates to stakeholders as requested.
  • Leading planning and review meetings to communicate feedback on development achievements.
  • Interacting with product owners and product managers to define/translate requirements and modifications into product designs.
  • Maintaining and developing knowledge of treasury requirements and current regulations that apply to our current and prospective clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial services industry.
  • Basic understanding of Payments (electronic fund transfer-EFT, payments), Gateway, and Cash Management.
  • General IT knowledge, able to communicate technical concepts concisely and effectively.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.
  • Sound analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A high degree of numeracy and a capacity for complex concepts.
  • A team player, which can also work independently under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure, achieve deadlines, and effectively prioritize concurrent tasks.
  • Possesses the desire to increase knowledge and skills when circumstances call for additional learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background with Corporate treasury, finance knowledge, payment processing, or banking is a big plus.
  • The Certified Scrum Product Owner professional certification is preferred.
  • Experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with the agile development process.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO20022.
  • Sound knowledge of SWIFT/MT/MX messaging and flows.
  • Experience working with APIs (understand schema, principle, integration, and exceptions).
