About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our team at FIS Australia. In this role, you will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, Devops, Architects, and other stakeholders to design, build, implement, and test quality technical or functional solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand product strategy, market, industry, and client goals.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business problem statements and convert them into user stories.
  • Articulate product vision and user stories in a manner clearly understandable to development teams.
  • Manage backlog of user stories for one or more projects/features.
  • Evaluate and refine user story acceptance criteria, accepts user stories, refines stories with Scrum teams.
  • Review and provide feedback on test plans to ensure application changes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Create Sprint Release Plans with input from development teams.
  • Monitor the development progress and provide updates to stakeholders as requested.
  • Lead planning and review meetings to communicate feedback on development achievements.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of financial services industry.
  • Broad understanding of Payments (electronic fund transfer-EFT, payments), Gateway and Cash Management.
  • General IT knowledge, be able to communicate technical concepts concisely and effectively.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.
  • Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A high degree of numeracy and a capacity for complex concepts.
  • A team player, which can also work independently under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure, achieve deadlines, and effectively prioritise concurrent tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background with Corporate treasury, finance knowledge, payment processing or banking is highly regarded.
  • The Certified Scrum Product Owner professional certification is preferred.
  • Experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with the agile development process.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO20022.
  • Solid knowledge of SWIFT/MT/MX messaging and flows.
  • Experience working with APIs (understand schema, principle, integration, and exceptions).
