The Role of a Genomic Epidemiologist and Modeller

  • Develop analytical frameworks combining molecular and epidemiological data to model Plasmodium transmission chains, particularly in low endemic and outbreak-prone settings.
  • Support the implementation of molecular surveillance tools.
  • Co-supervise junior researchers and postgraduate students.
  • Lead publications and secure competitive research funding.

About You:

  • PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification in a relevant field with a record of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Strong proficiency in programming (e.g., R, Python).
  • Experience with genomic data analysis and Bayesian inference frameworks.
  • A strong publication record and experience supervising students or junior researchers.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
