This role is part of the USDS Resiliency Operations Center, responsible for Incident Management, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery alignment, and proactive Readiness and Preparedness programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage incidents escalated from business units to investigate, coordinate cross-functional triage and mitigation activities, remediation coordination and tracking, reporting and communication.
  • Communicate incident response concepts and protocols in a digestible manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Synthesize technical details of critical incidents to executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or industry equivalent work experience in CyberSecurity, emergency management, or crisis management with a focus on security analytics and incident response.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in incident management operations, crisis management planning, and/or exercises is required. Experience with related frameworks and tools such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) is a plus.
