The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Business and Industry Development initiatives, fostering business capacity, economic diversity, and job creation within the local and regional economy.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of business and industry development functions in alignment with the Council Plan.
- Provide highly effective leadership, management, and coordination of Latrobe City Council's Business and Industry Development objectives.
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and work collaboratively to support investment attraction and deliver business plan activities.
- A tertiary degree in a relevant field and diverse experience in both operational areas and management.
- Extensive (5 or more years) experience in managing an economic development team or similar team.
- Strong understanding of business development opportunities with the skills to pursue and secure these within the current economic and government environment.
- Demonstrated relationships and high-level interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain strong networks with investors, businesses, Government representatives, Councillors, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in developing long-term strategies within the area of responsibility and subsequent budget and performance indicators to meet financial and corporate requirements.
- Sound problem-solving skills at a strategic and organisational level and an ability to make decisions on all matters within the area of responsibility.
- Relevant computer skills.
- Current Victorian drivers' licence.
- Postgraduate qualifications in business or management.
- Relevant required experience within the government or the corporate sectors.
