The Ocean Gateway Associate plays a pivotal role in Flexport's mission to simplify global trade. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our forwarding partners, ocean carriers, and trucking providers to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and dashboards to measure operational performance in China.
  • Drive performance management of Flexport's freight forwarding, trucking, CFS, and customs partners, leveraging global performance metrics and targets.
  • Partner with local teams to establish performance targets and governance cadence with top-tier network partners.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to local execution teams, identifying process standardization opportunities and developing solutions.
  • Solve client issues promptly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination, escalating issues as needed with internal teams.
  • Identify training needs and design training programs to drive operational quality.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree with 1-2 years of experience in Business Analysis or a similar role in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Consulting.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats, refining and building dashboards, and implementing and gathering feedback from partners on performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong performance record of living our values.

  • A system and process-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally.
  • Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it.
