Global Trade Operations Specialist

The Ocean Gateway Associate plays a critical role in Flexport's mission to make global trade easy for everyone. This role will work in a cross-functional environment, partnering closely with our forwarding partners, ocean carriers, trucking providers, and different teams across the company to achieve our common objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational performance frameworks, processes, and tools to measure our operations performance for China.
  • Drive performance management of Flexport's freight forwarding, trucking, CFS, and customs partners, leveraging global performance metrics, targets, dashboards, and reporting to drive quality and consistency of operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to set performance targets for partners, local teams, and establish local governance cadence, including QBRs, monthly reviews, and weekly reporting.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to local execution teams, identifying gaps and developing solutions focused on process standardization for both Flexport operations teams.
  • Solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination, escalating issues as needed with Flexport internal teams.
  • Identify operations training needs and design and execute training programs to drive operational quality.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree with 1-2 years of experience in Business Analyst or similar roles in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Consulting industries.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats, refining and building dashboards, and implementing and gathering feedback from partners on performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally.
