We are seeking a skilled Education Specialist to join our team at Catholic Healthcare, where you will play a vital role in enhancing employee knowledge and skills in Residential Aged Care settings.

As an Education Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering educational programs and initiatives to meet the needs of employees in our 93-bed nursing home in Lane Cove North, NSW. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that all employees have the necessary knowledge, skills, and performance to provide high-quality care to our residents.

The key focus areas of this role include:

  • Induction and Onboarding Program Coordination: Develop and deliver a comprehensive induction program for new employees to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively.
  • Employee Education and Training: Design and deliver education and training programs to enhance employee knowledge, skills, and performance, focusing on adult learning principles.
  • Needs Analysis and Learning Plan Development: Conduct regular needs analysis to identify gaps in employee knowledge and skills, and develop targeted learning plans to address these gaps.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of the aging process and relevant clinical knowledge.
  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or similar qualification.
  • Experience in delivering education and training programs using adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Solid understanding of Aged Care Legislation and Quality Standards.
  • Previous experience working in a Residential Aged Care setting.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Suite and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • An NDIS check or willingness to obtain one.
