Aged Care Clinical Lead Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to lead our Residential Care Team at SCC Bucklands Site - North Plympton.
About the RoleThis Fixed Term Part Time Position (up to 30 April 2025) requires an experienced Registered Nurse to direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients. You will liaise with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Leading Support Provision: Direct and supervise support staff in daily living activities, ensuring residents receive optimal care in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Social and Physical Engagement: Promote social and physical engagement among residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks for residents, communicating findings to relevant staff and incorporating into care planning.
- Meds Management: Ensure safe and timely administration of medications, monitoring for potential side effects.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
- Clear Handovers: Ensure seamless handovers between shifts, documenting progress notes, alert notifications, and care plan changes.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure all staff adhere to policies, procedures, and work instructions relevant to their roles.
- Education: Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Certifications: Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with a level of English literacy enabling effective interaction with older people.
- Time Management: Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance resident independence and self-determination with potential risks and duty of care.
- Dementia Understanding: High-level understanding of supporting residents with dementia, including those displaying challenging behaviors.
- AN-ACC Knowledge: Understanding of applying AN-ACC principles for optimal funding.
- Clinical Knowledge: Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including medicines used in aged care.
- Aged Care Standards: Comprehensive knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly accreditation requirements.
- Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually.
