Industrial Coatings Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Coatings Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience applying coatings and paint applications, sand-blasting, and performing other tasks relative to industrial coatings.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate the condition of surfaces to be coated and apply coatings accordingly.
  2. Maintain all equipment in good working order and report any defects to your supervisor immediately.
  3. Manage paint stock inventory in line with business requirements.
  4. Clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, brush, etch and burn surfaces in preparation for spraying.
  5. Apply masking techniques to protect windows, doors and other nearby surfaces and equipment from spray.
  6. Disassemble and reassemble components as required to carry out the painting and blasting functions.
  7. Prepare materials for proper application.
  8. Erect ladders, staging and other items to gain access to different areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary.
  9. Repair surfaces to be sprayed/painted, including plastering and sheetrock finishing.
  10. Adjust equipment to maintain proper spray application and clean equipment regularly.
  11. Perform quality control procedures to confirm compliance with relevant standards.
  12. Assist in the development and implementation of service standards and procedures to ensure responsiveness to customer needs.
  13. Ensure high-quality work is delivered within specified timeframes.
  14. Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.
  15. Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
  16. Adhere to safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in industrial painting/blasting.
  • IPAF/ Slinger/Signaller/Confined Spaces/Forklift certifications.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions.
  • Capacity to source information and stay up-to-date with new technologies.
