We are looking for an experienced Pastry Specialist to join our innovative bakery business in Perth, Western Australia. Our offerings include a wide variety of desserts, cakes, pastries, and other sweet treats.

Job Summary:

  • Measuring and mixing ingredients for cakes and pastries.
  • Decorating, coating, and glazing cakes.
  • Creating multi-layered, bespoke celebration cakes.
  • Preparing various icings, frostings, buttercreams, and fillings.
  • Using kitchen tools effectively.
  • Managing cake deliveries.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and food safety.
  • Providing customer service and handling front desk duties when needed.
  • Performing end-of-day sales and cash reconciliation.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the store environment.
  • Baking various types of cakes.
  • Creating special cakes for events and functions as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, based on training and experience.

  • Ability to work effectively with team members of varying experience levels.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A Certificate III or IV in Pastry and Bakery or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Pastry Specialist in a busy kitchen.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan and communicate daily schedules effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts on a full-time basis (38 hours/week).
  • Availability for long-term commitment, including working 7-day rotating rosters.
  • Legal right to work full-time; sponsorship may be considered for suitable long-term applicants.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a commercial bakery or cake decorating shop.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards for food safety and quality control.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Good physical fitness, stamina, and mobility.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work schedule and tasks.
