Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will oversee all mine production activities and personnel within your assigned crew to achieve compliance with the mine plan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Representing the Quarry Manager to ensure personnel in mining areas are not exposed to hazards through regular inspections and directing mining operations accordingly.
  • Cultivating and mentoring mining leading hands and your assigned crew to meet objectives.
  • Managing leave requirements for your team.
  • Conducting training needs analysis and developing action plans for each employee.
  • Ensuring effective utilisation of the mining fleet to deliver on the mining plan.
  • Maintaining accurate statutory and shift-specific documentation.
  • Fostering a positive team culture.
  • Interviewing new personnel for roles within the team.
  • Coordinating and engaging casual operators as required.
About You

This role is suited to an effective leader with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a production mining environment.

  • Required skills and qualifications:
    • Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency.
    • WA 'HR' class drivers licence (minimum).
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Front line management skills (preferred).
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
    • Aptitude for continuous improvement.
    • In-depth understanding of relevant legislation governing the mining industry in WA.
    • Proficiency in computer software applications, including integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet tools.
