Mining Operations Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • As a leader in the mining industry, you will oversee mine production activities and personnel within your assigned crew to ensure compliance with operational plans.
  • You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of mining areas and directing operations accordingly to prevent hazards.
  • Your role includes coaching and mentoring leading hands and your assigned crew to achieve objectives, manage leave requirements, conduct training gap analysis, and develop an action/development plan for each employee.
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring effective utilisation of the mining fleet to deliver on operational plans, completing required statutory and shift specific documentation, developing and maintaining a positive team culture, conducting interviews for new personnel, and managing casual operators as required.

Requirements

  • Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is essential for this role.
  • A WA 'HR' class drivers' licence (minimum) is also required.
  • FIRST AID CERTIFICATE is necessary.
  • Experience in front line management is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader is crucial.
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement ideas is also highly regarded.
  • High level understanding of all relevant legislation relevant to the role in the mining industry in WA is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer skills with ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications is required.

This role acts as an appointed person to the quarry manager, conducting area inspections as required. You will be responsible for overseeing all mine production activities and personnel within your assigned crew.
