Vehicle Acquisition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Smeaton Grange. This role involves reviewing, assessing and acquiring vehicle dismantle inventory from Auction to satisfy our dismantle pipeline.

This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed purchasing decisions based on thorough valuations of vehicles.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience in the automotive industry, mechanical and collision repair preferred, with sound knowledge of all makes and models and the automotive repair industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and assessing vehicle dismantle inventory from Auction to identify suitable acquisition opportunities
  • Providing transparent purchasing by undertaking Bid Buddy valuations for every vehicle purchase
  • Optimising part selection based on information available at the point of valuation
  • Achieving gross margin targets through targeted vehicle and parts selection
  • Maintaining and providing supporting documentation as required to ensure timely capture and processing of acquired vehicles into our system

You will work closely with the sales and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of new acquisitions into our business operations.

The successful candidate will possess excellent numeracy skills, computer literacy including competency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and the ability to follow processes and business rules.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in the automotive industry, mechanical and collision repair preferred
  • Sound knowledge of all makes and models and the automotive repair industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of Pinnacle and Bid Buddy
  • Ability to identify parts correctly using VIN decoders and parts catalogues
  • Able to work safely and efficiently both in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to follow process and business rules
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Computer literacy to include competency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook
