
Childcare Therapist

This role involves working with children and families in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will be part of an expanding team at The Lizard Centre, building a new service in Newcastle. As part of the Nextt Group, opportunities for additional shifts as a Disability Support Worker in the Newcastle area may be available.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 therapy to clients in varied settings (home, clinic, school) under the guidance and supervision of a Therapy Supervisor (CBA/BCBA).
- Support clients in developing skills in communication, social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Collect client data to track progress and identify areas of improvement.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages client participation.
- Studying or completed a Degree/Certificate in Psychology, Disability, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
- Right to work within Australia is necessary.
- Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check are also required.
- Full Australian Driver's License and Vehicle, current car registration and comprehensive car insurance are needed.
- A laptop/iPad for shift use is also required.
- For Disability Support Worker shifts, one of the following minimum requirements must be met:
- Hold a minimum of Certificate III in a relevant qualification and have completed your placement.
- Have at least six months of paid experience as a Disability Support Worker.
- Shortlisted applicants will be contacted with screening questions.
- If successful, you may be invited to attend a group interview at our office.
