Position Overview
Salary: $120,000 Including Super

Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) is looking for a qualified and experienced HVAC / Mechanical Supervisor to join our dedicated facilities maintenance team. This is a full-time permanent role where you will be responsible for overseeing all HVAC and Mechanical operations.

While this position is primarily local, it will involve regular travel to various facilities within your designated area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise in-house HVAC personnel and subcontractors for all General Estate Works (GEW) under the Defence Contract.
  • Manage a portfolio that may encompass multiple service lines, including but not limited to HVAC, BMS, Mechanical, Fire, Cranes, Compressed air, registered plant, and pools.
  • Conduct inspections and validations of physical work to ensure adherence to established quality and technical standards.
  • Oversee cost management and budgeting while assisting with planning, scheduling, and allocation of tasks.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that equipment and services are readily available for tradespersons.
  • Participate in meetings to monitor progress and address issues affecting safety, quality, schedule, and costs.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possess a formal trade background with experience in facilities maintenance across various building-related tasks and repairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate both in-house trades and external contractors.
  • Proficient in report writing, procurement principles, and preparing quotations.
  • Willingness to accommodate after-hours work and participate in an on-call roster.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Competent in using the MS Office suite; knowledge of MMS SAP systems is a plus.

Security Clearance Requirement:
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting (baseline). This requirement necessitates that the candidate be an Australian Citizen. A valid Australian driver's licence is also required.
