Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to provide high-quality services to residents within the facility, encompassing their individual physical, psychological, cultural, and spiritual needs. This includes supporting a safe home-like environment that encourages physical and social independence while safeguarding dignity and privacy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with elderly individuals.
  • Ability to understand and effectively work with residents suffering from dementia.
  • Capability to collaborate harmoniously and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Capacity to interpret written and verbal instructions, as well as policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to working within a caring environment.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as self-care, housekeeping, mobility, and hygiene.
  • Compliance with all care directions according to the individual resident care plan when providing or assisting with daily activities.
  • Assistance with meal preparation and serving in accordance with established standards.
  • Contribution to resident assessments and documentation within the scope and abilities as trained.
  • Collaboration with registered nurses or enrolled nurses to determine individual care/service needs of residents.
  • Providing assistance with medications to residents who request help and following directions on dispensed medication labels where applicable, within facility and Anglicare guidelines, and as appropriately trained.
  • Maintenance of safety for oneself and clients/caregivers at all times, according to knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Active participation in quality improvement and continuous learning to aid in review of work practices.
Requirements
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance - as required.
  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or working towards attaining this qualification.
  • Experience within a community services, not-for-profit organization, and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and requirements is desired.
