About the Role:
Whitehaven Coal is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer Rehabilitation to join our team at the Blackwater Mine. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of rehabilitation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mine plans and schedules to ensure safety and production outcomes are met.
- Prepare weekly and end-of-month reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, operations, EPCM service providers, and contractors to coordinate resources and communicate requirements.
- Conduct cost estimation and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Environmental Focus:
As a Project Engineer Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for ensuring the integration of environmental factors into mine design and planning processes. This includes developing and implementing environmental management strategies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will also drive continuous improvement of rehabilitation earthworks to meet business objectives and rehabilitation completion criteria.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Civil or Mining.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Project Engineer with a strong background in design and execution within Mining Construction or Mining Operations.
- Rehabilitation experience is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
