Job Title: Trading And Market Operations Lead, Energy

What to Expect:

You will manage trading performance for a fleet of battery storage projects. You will drive continuous improvements in an automated trading platform, optimizing battery revenues and supporting the transition to sustainable energy.

As a key member of the Autobidder team, you will generate actionable insights, communicate complex topics clearly, and engage with stakeholders. Collaborating with engineers, you will refine trading strategies, support decision-making, and monitor real-time performance to balance risk and returns.

This role requires analytical problem-solving, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee battery trading performance in the Australian market.
- Manage 24/7 battery trading using Autobidder, including exchange-traded financial products.
- Analyze market conditions, develop risk-adjusted trading strategies, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance Autobidder's algorithm.
- Develop and document trading processes to improve team and asset performance.
- Build internal analytical tools and dashboards.
- Engage with customers to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
- Track market rule changes and translate them into software and trading strategy updates.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of physical or financial trading experience in Australian electricity markets.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach.
- Data-driven mindset with informed opinions on Autobidder's development and performance.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously while influencing others.
