Senior Gameplay Programmer Job

Rockstar Games is seeking a talented Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our team. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing core gameplay systems and control interfaces using C++ and game script.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement gameplay features and systems that facilitate the creation of exciting new gameplay experiences.
  • Work closely with animators, designers, and artists to ensure seamless integration of visual and audio elements.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and studios to identify potential improvements and modify/extend existing gameplay systems.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines and scope work appropriately to deliver high-quality results.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in low-level software development, including at least 2 years in the video games industry or a related field.
  • Ability to write well-structured and highly optimized C++ code.
  • Strong understanding of top-down design, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and game design principles.

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior experience working in large codebases with proprietary engines.
  • At least one shipped title; preferably on consoles.
  • Knowledge of mobile devices and development processes a bonus.
