Job Title: Structural Steel Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced structural steel specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of structures and metal fittings. They will also erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and brackets for site safety and support, as well as fabricate and install structural steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel erection and fabrication, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. They will also be familiar with OSHA regulations and ironworking safety protocols, and possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and brackets for site safety and support
  • Fabricate and install structural steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders
  • Anchor steel members in position for securing by bolting, welding, or riveting
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations
  • Inspect work sites to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship or relevant training program completion
  • Minimum 3 years experience in steel erection and fabrication
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and ironworking safety protocols
  • Able to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces or at high elevations
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurement and material cutting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work on various construction projects, often in outdoor environments. They will be required to lift heavy objects and work at heights, as well as work in tight spaces.
