Network Engineering Role

This position involves contributing to the development of network engineering strategies, defining standards and implementing innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform commissioning, integration and decommissioning of customer services
  • Implement standard procedures to improve Productivity and Quality
  • Work on live network environments at client sites
  • Configure VLANs on ASR switches using NSO scripts
  • Port configure ASR switches and terminate connections at customer premises
  • Set up routing protocols like BGP, RIP and Static Routes through IP-RDM based on design
  • Configure customer-end Cisco switches and NTU devices as needed
  • Create, maintain and follow technical procedures and documentation

Requirements

  • Experience working with various network vendors/providers, project design and deployment teams
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to develop creative solutions
  • Provide guidance and direction for others to resolve problems
  • Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with strategic direction
  • Exposure to Telstra's IP Metropolitan area network
  • Intermediate-advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in teams
  • Strong attention to detail and task prioritization
  • Expertise in systems: IDEAL, MAGPIE, CSOM, IP-RDM, iTAM, TCMA, DRAKE, RAPID, PUTTY, PRO-VISION, CMART, Net Cracker, CNS-DI, IPDM
  • Previous experience in similar role or hands-on experience with above-mentioned systems
