This is a Full Time position as the Learning Specialist, reporting to the Manager, Talent & Development, at the Australian National University. The successful candidate will oversee the university's learning functions, compliance management, traineeships, apprenticeships, and strategic learning projects.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities

  • Embedding the university's Capability Framework and a skills culture across the institution.
  • Organising and overseeing fortnightly corporate inductions for new starters across the university.
  • Managing and maintaining training, compliance, and certification records in a highly regulated environment.
  • Creating and monitoring complex reporting.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training initiatives for both compliance and professional development.
  • Working closely with our traineeship providers to coordinate Job Ready programs, traineeships, and apprenticeships.
  • Assisting in the creation of training proposals including planning, budgeting, recording, and reporting.
  • Building and sustaining productive relationships with business leaders and stakeholders to support the effective and efficient operation of our Learning and Capability function.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated skills working within Learning Management Systems. Prior experience in the implementation of new modules or features within learning systems is a huge bonus.
  • Complex problem-solving ability & systems thinking approach.
  • Strong customer/user mindset – prioritise user experience and configure processes accordingly.
  • Strong facilitation skills for both large and small groups in topics such as communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership, management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate learning programs, initiatives, and materials in consultation with business leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
