The Role:

  • Ventia is seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Professional to join our Defence contract.

As the key interface between the SHEQ Manager and operational delivery, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and governing SHEQ programs, systems, and processes for the contract.

This is a 12-month fixed-term role based at Keswick Barracks.

You must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.

As a result of this requirement, the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.

About the Position

The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Undertaking reviews of contractor project documentation.
  • Working with Ventia project officers to ensure construction works adhere to safety requirements.
  • Conducting field inspections and completing audits on contractor works and management systems.
  • Adhering to legislations, regulations, and standards and ensuring all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation.
  • Undertaking investigations in relation to safety-related incidents or issues and providing recommendations through the contract leadership team. Engaging with Ventia SHEQ where appropriate.
  • Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained, and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Formal training in incident investigation ICAM methodology.
  • A Construction Induction card.
Technical Competencies

For this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Suitable experience as a safety professional in construction safety and the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
