About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Reliable Safety Specialist to join our Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Sustainment program based at Edinburgh, Adelaide or Melbourne CBD locations. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking safety engineering activities including the management of hazards, identification, assessment and mitigation of hazards.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of safety engineering principles and practices. You will have the chance to work in a collaborative environment with customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to maintain a positive culture within the JORN program.

The successful candidate will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to develop effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. They will also be able to produce effective technical reports and participate in the identification, preparation and review of problem reports, variances (waivers and deviations) and engineering changes to assess potential safety impacts.

About You

">
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in safety engineering or a related field, preferably with knowledge of safety engineering standards such as AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009
  • Strong understanding of the engineering systems development lifecycle, including hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organisational and time management skills
  • Degree qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, science or technology
