Job Title: Principal & Senior Biodiversity Planner/Advisor

The City of Moreton Bay is seeking highly skilled and experienced professionals to join their team as Principal or Senior Biodiversity Planner/Advisor. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work on complex environmental and biodiversity planning projects, providing technical leadership and expertise to achieve strategic goals.

About the Role:

  • To provide technical leadership and guidance to team members on environmental and biodiversity planning initiatives.
  • To offer expert advice aligned with legislative, policy, and organizational requirements.
  • To lead delivery of complex projects, managing internal teams and external consultants to achieve strategic goals.
  • To develop team capabilities to foster high performance, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • To contribute technical expertise to the development and implementation of strategies and policies related to environmental and biodiversity issues.
  • To facilitate community consultation and represent the Council at various forums.
  • To possess a current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • To act as a key delegate and advocate within the department, providing professional advice to stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A relevant degree qualification for the role.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in biodiversity or environmental planning, strategic planning, and project management.
  • Proven experience leading complex environmental projects and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to achieve high performance in time-sensitive environments with diverse stakeholder interests.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Deep understanding of relevant legislation and environmental planning principles.
  • Expertise in advising on strategy and policy related to environmental and biodiversity issues.
  • Leadership skills to manage teams through change and uncertainty.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly and negotiating sustainable outcomes.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement for complex projects.
