Vaccination Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Immunisation Nurse to join our team in Toowoomba on a casual basis.
This role will involve providing influenza and other vaccines throughout the Newcastle area, with most work occurring between March and June each year.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in administering vaccinations to individuals in workplaces.
- Conduct assessments and obtain informed consent for immunisation
- Administer vaccinations and provide accurate documentation
- Monitor individuals for any adverse reactions or allergies
- Provide education and counselling on vaccinations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and protocols
About You
To excel in this role, you should be a highly organised person who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You must be able to establish a rapport with people and make them feel at ease during the immunisation process.
Attention to detail, familiarity with IT processes and meticulous documentation skills are necessary to ensure accurate records and adherence to legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- HESA-accredited nurse immuniser certificate; or nurse immuniser certificate valid for the state/territory in which you wish to work

- Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably in immunisation
- Sound knowledge of vaccination schedules and best practices
- Strong communication and patient counselling skills
- Proficiency in computer skills, including the ability to use digital tools and software effectively
- Competence in managing clinic data accurately and efficiently on a mobile device, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with data security standards
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Own car and mobile phone
- Available to work a minimum of two days per week (Monday to Friday)
- Familiarity with relevant guidelines and immunisation protocols
- Proven ability to manage adverse reactions or emergencies effectively
Estimated Salary: $70-$90 per hour.
