Job Description

This is a pivotal role within Transport for NSW's transformative agenda, offering the opportunity to gain expertise and diverse skills. The position requires strategic thinking, collaboration, and a strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, safety, environmental compliance, and governance.

The jobholder will work across a diverse and complex asset class, developing, maintaining, and continuously improving strategic asset management plans and investment strategies. This includes ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy, compliance, and currency of the Asset Register across the asset class.
  • Prepare evidence-based business cases, reports, and strategic recommendations by analysing data, assessing risks, evaluating costs, and consulting stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop integrated investment plans aligned with long-term infrastructure strategies, system reliability, and funding considerations.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of integrated Transport Asset Management Strategic Assets and Services Plans (TAM SASP) and Asset and Services Plans (TAM ASP) for the portfolio.
  • Provide technical assurance on safety, environmental, maintenance, and operational performance of the asset class.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for asset improvements, including technology adoptions, upgrades, renewals, and divestments to optimize lifecycle value.
  • Participate in governance as the asset owner, approving changes in program intent related to acquisition, sustainment, renewal, and divestment activities.
  • Act as the 'voice of the owner' by providing strategic advice and final signoff on asset governance matters in collaboration with the Passenger Integration and Planning (PIP) team.
