Sustainability Strategist

Embark on a journey to shape the future by developing and implementing an environmental and sustainability strategy that drives key initiatives and embeds sustainable practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance Sustainability Metrics: Develop and maintain a Greenhouse Gas Accounting database to unlock decarbonisation insights and ensure credible reporting.
  • Catalyze Climate Resilience: Lead climate risk and resilience assessments in partnership with internal teams and external experts, identifying emerging sustainability risks and anticipating operational impacts.
  • Promote Carbon Reduction: Embed carbon reduction into core business processes and performance metrics, driving corporate decarbonisation and powering transformative change.
  • Design a Sustainable Future: Develop and deliver a bold, company-wide Sustainability Strategy, owning ESG disclosures and reporting frameworks, while championing circular economy principles.
  • Analyze and Report Sustainability Data: Own sustainability data analysis and reporting, covering regulatory submissions, performance tracking, and executive communications, ensuring timely and accurate information.
Requirements:
  • Sustainability Leadership: Demonstrated experience in embedding sustainable practices into business operations and influencing strategic decision making, with a strong grasp of governance and disclosure.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Hands-on experience working within carbon emissions and sustainability reporting frameworks, with a clear understanding of governance and disclosure.
  • Risk Analysis: Skilled in identifying emerging sustainability risks and anticipating operational impacts, with a focus on safety-critical environments.
  • Technology Foresight: Skilled in evaluating innovations that drive decarbonisation and climate resilience, with a focus on emerging trends and technologies.
  • Relevant Education: Degree qualified in Science, Environment, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in relevant theories and principles.
  • Safety-First Mindset: Proven experience operating within safety-critical environments, with a strong grasp of how environmental risks intersect with workplace health and safety.
