About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal AI Architect to join our Data & AI Architecture team at Australia Post. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of AI solutions that align with our strategic goals and Data & AI Reference Architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms that best serve our organization's needs
  • Design scalable and robust AI architectures that can be integrated seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure in alignment with our Data & AI Reference Architecture
  • Ensure all AI architecture designs adhere to AI Governance policies and standards to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on AI-related projects, ensuring that solutions are technically sound and adhere to industry standards
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, implementing improvements and optimizations as necessary
  • Participate in relevant Architecture Forums and Boards, prepare submissions and presentations
  • Conduct research and development to explore new AI methodologies and techniques that can provide a competitive advantage
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Enterprise, Domain or Solution Architecture, with at least 5 years focused on AI, machine learning, or data science
  • Proven ability designing and implementing large-scale AI systems in a production environment
  • Experience in leading technical teams and managing complex AI projects is advantageous
  • Understanding of any major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) and AI deployment strategies
  • Expertise in at least one AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or others
  • Specialised knowledge of data engineering, big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and data governance
  • Familiarity with AI in specific domains such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learning
  • Strong understanding of MLOps application lifecycle management, CI/CD automation, and operational monitoring and maintenance
