Aboriginal Health Research Lead Position

This role is designed to lead and champion Indigenous research methods and ethical, community-driven projects that promote the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.

About the Role
  • To lead and mentor a team of Aboriginal researchers and health professionals in delivering high-impact research projects that address the needs of Aboriginal communities.
  • To partner with communities, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), and universities to develop and implement research projects that are culturally appropriate and relevant to the needs of Aboriginal communities.
  • To ensure that research outcomes are shared in meaningful and culturally appropriate ways that benefit Aboriginal communities.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Champion Indigenous research methods and ethical practices that respect the cultural heritage and rights of Aboriginal communities.
  2. Develop and implement strategic partnerships with ACCHOs, universities, and other stakeholders to deliver high-impact research projects that address the needs of Aboriginal communities.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of Aboriginal researchers and health professionals to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality research projects.
Requirements
  • Degree in a related field such as health science, public health, or social sciences.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring teams of Aboriginal researchers and health professionals.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous research methods and ethical practices.
