System Protection and Planning Expertise Required

This role involves performing complex engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, including protective relay calculations, relay coordination studies, and development of relay setting files.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, minimum 4 years of experience in electrical power system analysis, and familiarity with power system analysis software such as CAPE, Aspen, and ETAP. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects, are also essential.

As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you will be part of a rapidly growing team and will have opportunities to develop your skills and take on more complex and responsible roles. You will work independently and direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise less-experienced EITs and/or designers.

  • Perform protective relay calculations and determine appropriate relay set points.
  • Perform protective relay coordination studies utilizing short circuit modeling software.
  • Develop relay setting files utilizing relay vendor software.
  • Produce relay coordination compliance reports for applicable NERC-PRC standards.
  • Provide protective relay construction support.
