Job Description

**Job Title:** Student Counsellor - Mental Health Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Student Counsellor to join our Wellbeing Team at Independentschools. As a Student Counsellor, you will provide vital support and guidance to students, promoting emotional well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one counselling sessions to students, addressing a range of personal, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement proactive strategies to support student mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic care for students.
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions when necessary, ensuring the safety of students at all times.
  • Deliver workshops and seminars on topics related to mental health, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions while respecting confidentiality and privacy guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to build trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A relevant qualification in counselling or psychology is essential, along with demonstrated experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
