Knauf, a global industry leader, is seeking a Sustainability Manager to join its Manufacturing team in Brisbane, QLD. The ideal candidate will ensure resources are managed sustainably, minimizing environmental impact and preserving resources for future generations.

This role will lead the identification, implementation, and monitoring of Knauf's sustainability projects, focusing on delivering sustainable and low-energy solutions. The Sustainability Manager will communicate requirements across the business, ensure proper reporting, and drive sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sustainability projects, support Steerco preparations, and track data reporting (energy consumption, Green House Gas emissions, water consumption, waste management)
  • Communicate with BUs and plants, ensure proper information sharing, and consolidate Knauf standardised reporting KPIs
  • Engage teams in sustainability actions, motivate teams, and support teams facing difficulties
  • Build up long sustainability roadmaps for each plant and country level, analyzing and evaluating energy & CO2 reduction potentials through periodic audits and assessments
  • Identify sustainability risks and mitigation measures, highlighting opportunities to improve sustainability performance
  • Assist in preparing sustainability technology studies to support investment preparation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a sustainable, environmental, or engineering field
  • Experience in the gypsum industry, process industry, construction material, or multinational and cross-functional projects & sustainability
  • Experience in change management, project management, motivation of plant teams, and adapting communication to various levels
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge in Sustainability, Thermodynamics, Thermal processing, Industrial processing, Combustion, Steam, Electricity & Global energy optimization
  • Experience with data recording and analysis & Waste management
