Project Sustainability Manager

Infrastructure People is seeking a highly skilled Project Sustainability Manager to join our Brisbane business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading sustainability projects and initiatives, developing and implementing sustainability plans, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

About the Role
  • Lead sustainability projects and initiatives, developing and implementing sustainability plans and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and manage sustainability risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) and local councils.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Support the project team to achieve environmental, sustainability, and social procurement targets.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in infrastructure projects in a role focused on sustainability, environment, economic, social management or similar areas.
  • Tertiary degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental science or related area.
  • Knowledge of contemporary best practice approaches to sustainability in design and construction.
  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading ISCA submissions for Infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Sustainable Development Guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Rail Industry (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Environmental Act & Regulations, Legislations, Codes of Practices in Queensland (preferred).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of rail sector client requirements, standards and practices (preferred).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NABERs (preferred).
  • Eligible to obtain a RIW card issued by TfNSW.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs.

  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to effectively negotiate and balance the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder and communication management skills.
  • Structured approach to problem solving and highly developed technical analytical skills.
  • Capable of developing a high-level understanding of client expectations and a high-level ability to form and maintain positive relationships.
  • Strong listening and communication skills with an ability to relate to people from a wide range of positions and backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively handle high stress environments with resilience and professionalism.
