Job Title: Mechanical Operations Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of engine room machinery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on engine room machinery to ensure compliance with safety and environmental protocols.
  • Engine Room Operations: Undertake engine room duties, ensuring accurate records are kept and that all operations are carried out in accordance with established procedures.
  • Bunkering and Waste Oil Pumping: Assist with bunkering operations and waste oil pumping, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Compliance and Quality: Comply with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor engineering cadets, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Emergency Duties: Perform emergency duties as outlined in the muster list, responding promptly and effectively to any situation that may arise.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical operations, preferably in a similar role or industry.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications, such as a diploma or degree in a related field.
