About the Role

The organisation seeks a highly skilled professional to assume the critical position of Chief Risk Officer. This pivotal role plays a vital part in ensuring the organisation maintains a robust and compliant Risk Management Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute an end-to-end Risk Management Framework, encompassing risk identification, evaluation, treatment, and control implementation;
  • Establish and maintain core risk documentation, including the Risk Management Strategy, Risk Appetite Statements, and Controls Management Process;
  • Monitor performance against Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), escalate issues as necessary, and manage regular reviews of the framework, incorporating internal and external audits;
  • Design, implement, and test risk controls, working closely with first-line functions to ensure accountability and effectiveness;
  • Present timely and accurate risk-related reports for governance committees and the board;
  • Oversee organisational risk registers and manage the full lifecycle of internal and external audit processes;
  • Lead the Business Continuity program, including planning, testing, and reporting;
  • Support compliance activities, such as breach assessments, incident management, training, and regulatory obligations;
  • Provide strategic advice and support across projects, regulatory affairs, policy development, and licence management;
  • Develop and deliver risk training programs to enhance capability and embed a strong risk culture.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Risk Management, or related field; postgraduate or industry certifications are highly regarded;
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in risk, compliance, or legal functions;
  • Strong understanding of financial services, particularly superannuation and managed funds;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and engage stakeholders;
  • Expertise in risk frameworks and methodologies;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with commercial acumen.
