Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist

Taken from the job description, this role is a leadership position within Take Two. The primary objectives of the role are to support the clinical team leader, complete secondary consultations with staff about the occupational needs of infants, children and young people, provide consultation as part of the wider Developmental Specialist Team, complete Occupational Therapy assessments, provide clinical supervision and contribute to the development and implementation of training requests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To have a leadership role within Take Two and support the clinical team leader, including building and maintaining important partnerships and supporting the team to meet key performance indicators.
  2. To complete secondary consultations with Take Two staff specifically about the occupational needs of infants, children, and young people, as well as providing consultation as part of the wider Developmental Specialist Team.
  3. To complete Occupational Therapy assessments through the Intensive Therapeutic Services and Fee for Service programs.
  4. To provide clinical supervision to clinicians and students as required.
  5. To contribute to the development and implementation of training requests for Take Two staff and external agencies.
Your Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys working within a team and is passionate about seeing young people reach their goals. A Bachelor Level or Higher qualification in Occupational Therapy and current APHRA registration is essential. Experience in working with children, young people, families and carers with a sophisticated understanding and knowledge of the complexities of the service system as well as child development, trauma theory, attachment theory and systemic work is also required.

  • A strong passion for child welfare and ability to share Berry Street's values in every aspect of their work.
  • Motivated to provide best clinical practice for our children, young people and families.
  • Able to work autonomously and in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of secondary consultation and upskilling of others.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision.
